Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Summary:

Kay and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector for a 2nd shift position for PC Board manufacturing operations in Wheeling, IL.

The Quality Inspectors primary job is to provide the necessary inspection throughout the production floor and ensure that all products meet acceptable standards as well as customer specifications.

Position is expected to be on a contract to direct hire basis.

Work Schedule:

Monday Friday, 4:00 PM 12:30 AM

Pay:

$12.00 / HR+ (DOE)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand the process of inspection for assigned jobs by following specific instructions/ documentation.
  • Perform assigned operation which may include set-up inspection, First article, and in-process inspection.
  • Visual inspection is the minimum requirement necessary to identify nonconformance.
  • Basic knowledge of SPC will be required unless there is evidence of being familiar with the process.
  • Follow instructions by reading blue prints, route sheets, or any documentation necessary to meet product requirements
  • Must be familiar with all the operations in each department and to be able to inspect in timely manner.
  • Data collection and interpretations will be required during normal production.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year+ experience performing inspection (i.e. incoming materials, work-in-process, customer returned product and finished goods to determine conformance with specifications).
  • 1 year+ experience in electronics manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills Word/ Excel/ Access
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and soldering helpful
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of people.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Physical Demands:

  • Sit; use of hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms done 1/3rd to 2/3rds of the time.
  • Stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear done less than 1/3rd of the time.
  • The lifting requirements for this position are:
    • Lifting up to 25 lbs. Less than 1/3rd of the time.
    • Lifting up to 10 lbs. 1/3rd to 2/3rds of the time.

Vision Requirements:

  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  • Depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
